Purpose:
As part of routine maintenance, we will be replacing battery-packs on a UPS that supplies power to the Data Center network cabinets on Wednesday, June 29th, from 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM.

Impact:
There is not any expected impact from this maintenance. The attached core networking devices are redundantly powered by multiple (four) independent power feeds.

Affected Services:
In the unlikely event of a UPS failure, or a utility-power outage during the maintenance, all or any services hosted in the Data Center may be affected.

Resolved - uConnect administrators have identified and resolved the root cause of the mail delivery delays that occurred on Thursday (6/23) and Friday (6/24) last week. Office 365 / uConnect Exchange mail routing queues are now healthy and all mail is being delivered on time.

Update - At approximately 10am on 6/24 uConnect received reports of additional mail delays. Administrators have responded by allocating additional mail queue server resources. As of 10:15am all mail queues are back to normal and incoming messages are being delivered on time. Administrators will continue to actively monitor mail delivery to Office 365 and uConnect Exchange users.

The UC Davis Home Site, www.ucdavis.edu was unavailable Tuesday, June 21, 2016, between 2:06am and 2:34am. The hosting vendor reported the cause as a routing mesh server crash, which was quickly mitigated. The vendor reports they currently have no reason to expect further irregularities.

The service was fully restored at 2:34am on June 21.

Moving the existing service to vacant fiber strands is required so Comcast can splice their existing fiber optic cable to our fiber cable. Currently the Comcast fiber optic cable is terminated in the School of Education building and 3820 Chiles. With the 3820 Chiles being vacated, we are allowing Comcast to splice their 12-strand fiber optic cable to our 96-strand fiber optic cable at Chiles Road.

Impact:
