Update software on the Davis Campus Border Firewalls.

Impact:
Traffic will be routed via alternate paths when the software update is performed.
Clients may experience a brief period of intermittent network connectivity when switching between normal and alternate paths.
Existing sessions may reset when network traffic is diverted to the alternate routing path, and a second time when network traffic is returned to the normal path.

Scheduled - Maintenance: On Thursday 11/16/23 from 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM (11/17) we will be performing network maintenance for VoIP. We will be modifying the VoIP configuration so that it can support dynamic call routing to/from Zoom Phone. This maintenance continues to build the foundation for new phone services provided by the Aggie Phone Project.



Client Impact: We have planned this change to avoid end user impact. We do not expect any services to be disrupted. However, there is always a chance that call routing may be briefly disrupted during the maintenance window. If there is a disruption, phone calls placed from/to campus numbers may briefly encounter a “Service Unavailable” message. The message heard by the client depends on the carrier but could be a recording or a fast busy signal. Please report any disruption in phone service to IT Express.
