Identified - The wireless network had one of the campus controllers crash. It has been restored and network connectivity should be stabilizing.

Since this controller is in a group with other controllers, it affected any users and access points that were homed on it.

The group of other controllers did take over for most of the wireless traffic.

In order to remove a failed line card in the Campus DC master layer 2 switch all network connections need to be vacated from that card.

Impact:

We don’t expect any campus services to be impacted as they are all either housed at the quest data center or are redundant at quest data center and the campus DC, but any colocation client VMs will see this interruption.

Scheduled - Purpose:
Facilities will test the Campus Data Center's fail-over equipment as part of this maintenance. The Campus Data Center will be switched, briefly, to the power supplied by the generator. This semi-annual test, which occurs on the first Friday of April and October, is part of an established maintenance schedule.

Impact:
High Performance Computing servers and other co-location equipment which are not on UPS and hosted within the Campus Data Center, will lose power during the test. No impact to other services is expected. Data Center UPS systems will carry the power load during the transition to the generator.

Affected Services:
High Performance Computing servers and other co-location equipment hosted within the Campus Data Center and which are not on UPS, will be affected. In the event of a UPS failure, other services hosted in the data center may be disrupted.
