Scheduled - Purpose:
Facilities will test the Campus Data Center power generator by briefly switching Data Center power to the generator. This semi-annual test, which occurs on the first Fridays of April and October, is part of an established maintenance schedule.

Impact:
High Performance Computing servers and other co-location equipment not on UPS hosted in the Data Center will lose power during the test. No impact to other services is expected. Data Center UPS systems will carry the power load during the transition to the generator.

Affected Services:
High Performance Computing servers and other co-location equipment not on UPS will be affected. In the event of a UPS failure other services hosted in the data center may be disrupted.
