Scheduled
Purpose: UCOP PPS mainframe administrators will be changing the IP addresses of mainframe services during the weekend of October 10th. Campus technical administrators should ensure that firewall and host based policies allow traffic to and from the new IP range before Monday, October 12th.

Impact: : No impact is expected as PPS mainframe services are normally unavailable during weekends. However, technical administrators should ensure that existing policies referencing 128.48.96.0/24 are updated to allow traffic to and from 128.48.64.0/24 prior to the migration taking place. IP address changes will be limited to the 3rd octet only, for example 128.48.96.64 will change to 128.48.64.64.

PPS mainframe users will need the following ports open in order to login and print:

Netflow Protocol Port NEW IP Address OLD IP Address Function
Egress TCP 992 128.48.64.64 128.48.96.64 TN3270
Ingress TCP 515 128.48.64.51 128.48.96.51 LPR (Printing)

UCOP recommends keeping the existing rules referencing the old 128.48.96.0/24 subnet active until October 19th, 2015.

Note: This information has also been sent to the PPS user group. The move of the mainframe will not affect the PPS Data Warehouse and web-based PPS Decision Support reports.
