Scheduled - Purpose:
This downtime is to install new firmware on both Data Center firewalls located at Quest to address known issues that caused two recent outages. The firewalls are highly available with redundant hardware. We don’t anticipate any downtime. If downtime is necessary, it will be for reboots of the firewalls. This will cause a short outage, approximately 15 minutes, during that maintenance window.

Impact:
All IET managed services, as well as banner and KFS, will be impacted during a firewall reboot. Campus colocation clients utilizing physical colocation or the Data Center Private Cloud Services will not be affected.

Identified - Impact:
Users with iPhones and iPads in the Segundo Hall Buildings are unable to reach off-campus websites on Eduroam.

Locations Affected:
Any wireless user on Eduroam using an iPhone or an iPad trying to reach off- campus websites while connected to an access point in the Segundo Student Housing area. On-campus websites are having no issues.

Status:
NOC personnel are working on the issue now. No ETR.

Resolved - A recent feature update for calendaring services contained a code issue that prevented users from syncing email, calendar, and contacts using Apple Mail on Mac computers.

Microsoft has completed rolling out the fix to all affected accounts.

Identified - Microsoft has identified a code issue that can result in Apple Mail not being able to sync properly with Office 365. While Microsoft works on remediation, they suggest using Outlook on the web, 365.ucdavis.edu, or Outlook for Mac client as a workaround. IT Express has received reports that upgrading to Mac OS 10.12 can also resolve the issue in some circumstances. Updates will be posted as they are provided by Microsoft.

Scheduled - Purpose:
Perform software update and annual reload of Davis Campus CDF and ADF core network routers.
Perform software update and annual reload of Area 13 and 14 BDF/IDF devices.

Impact:
No impact expected for the CDF and ADF devices. They are deployed in pairs to mitigate failures and maintenance events.
Loss of connectivity lasting between 2 - 10 minutes when single BDF and IDF devices are reloaded. Standalone devices and will not pass traffic during the reload process.
